Pole Dance Show: Dress Rehearsal

Pole Dance Show: Dress Rehearsal

On Sunday 6/24, we will be showcasing our pole athletes' talents as they perform their dances in front of an audience for the first time. They have put in many, many hours to prepare and they want to show their friends, family, and fellow Warriors what they have been able to accomplish.

Our performers are as follow:
(Competing on June 30)

JANG: Performing an entertaining number with the heart of a "warrior".

ANDREA: Performing an enticing number as a super villain (be careful or you might be poisoned!)

Special performance by:
(Future competitors)

DEBRA: She's all about that base... making use of all of her fluid bellydance moves!

SHEENA: Don't let her fool you. This diva has some sexy moves and she's not afraid to use them!

LAUREN: Combining Broadway, burlesque, and pole...what more can you ask for?

Our performers will be in full hair, makeup, and costume. This is a DRESS REHEARSAL so the numbers may be run, corrected, polished and re-performed. This is a great opportunity to see how much work goes behind a pole performance.

No RSVP is needed. Just share this post with your friends and family. We will have some chairs available and we have yoga mats if you want to sit on the floor. Feel free to BYOB and snacks.

Holiday Stroll: New Canaan

Holiday Stroll: New Canaan

Friday, December 1st, 5:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. and December 2nd, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

As is the tradition of this highly anticipated kick-off to the holiday season in New Canaan, Friday evening will feature the arrival of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, who will help us officially kick off the holiday season! Residents of all ages and backgrounds gather on New Canaan’s Elm Street, which is closed to traffic, to enjoy the festivities: singing Christmas carols and enjoying musical performances by the Students of the Studio, Performing Arts Conservatory, The New Canaan Dance Academy, Saxe Saxaphones and the Magical Music Singers. The firepit will be glowing at the intersection of South and Elm with S’mores thanks to the Kiwanis Club of New Canaan. Don’t miss the Waffle Cabin in front of the playhouse for that once a year treat! If the weather does not cooperate, we will postpone some of Friday’s activities to Saturday so no one has to miss out!

The entertainment continues as a cast of holiday characters such as Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch and of course Rudolph roams the village spreading holiday cheer. Everyone warms up with delicious seasonal beverages provided by local merchants, as guests shop. Surprises can be found on Main and Forest Streets as well. To add to the magical atmosphere, light up holiday trinkets and garb will be available for sale during the event.

The merriment continues on Saturday: enjoy photo ops with Santa at Houlihan Lawrence, take a pic in a Ice Sculpture selfie booth thanks to Bankwell in New Canaan, NC Dance Academy will dance the day away and the Norwalk Symphony Brass Ensemble will bring live music to the streets. Callari Auto Group will also be on Elm sponsoring another great Ice Sculpture!

Finally enjoy the Ginger Bread House Tour sponsored by Halstead Property which has become a New Canaan tradition for families to decorate and create together.
The houses will be on display in store windows throughout town during the month of December.

The Chamber plans to keep the holiday spirit going by having other entertainment on Saturday’s in December.

The Holiday Stroll continues to be one of the reasons why living in New Canaan is A Wonderful Life.
Admission to the Holiday Stroll is FREE
