2023 is the year of the rabbit in the Chinese tradition. Join us for the Lantern Festival, a Chinese festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunar calendar marking the last day of the lunar New Year celebration. Children go to temples carrying paper lanterns during the Lantern Festival and solve riddles at night. This year the Norwalk Public Library will celebrate the Lantern Festival with a legend of the Festival, a story about a wise man transforming a tragedy into a carnival in Chang'an, the capital city of ancient China's Han Dynasty and a performance by the Chinese dance group from Connecticut Chinese Education Association (CCEA) and Li Garden Dance Company. Everyone will create their own Chinese lantern. Please register for this program via email gnlv@norwalkpl.org, or by calling (203) 899-2780 ext. 15182 and leave a message with your name, phone number and number of people who will be in attendance.
