Celebrate the culmination of Site Lines: Four Solo Exhibitions Engaging Place with exhibiting artists David Brooks, Kim Jones, and Peter Liversidge. Enjoy festive fare by Ridgefield’s No. 109 Cheese and Wine, including grilled cheese bites and soup shooters, while mingling with the artists and touring the galleries.
Out of Site marks the realization of another Liversidge proposal (Proposal for The Aldrich No. 14: Choral Piece Written For and Performed By the Employees of Ridgefield Hardware, 2016)—a choral performance written by the London-based artist and performed by the employees of Ridgefield Hardware, the local family-owned and operated shop that has been a fixture of the community since 1938. Award-winning composer and interdisciplinary choral conductor Esmeralda Conde Ruiz will be conducting the performance.
A number of family-friendly activities will take place during this closing party including an all-ages scavenger hunt throughout the Museum where visitors can engage with the exhibitions in a new and fun way, seeking out unique elements in each gallery. In the Museum’s Education Center, create a work of art that glows in the dark inspired by Peter Liversidge’s RGB light installations using neon paper and black paper under black light. Each family that attends will receive a copy of David Brooks Coloring Book, the artist-and student-designed coloring book creating in conjunction with Brooks’s exhibition at The Aldrich, Continuous Service Altered Daily.
