Landscapes: A Solo Show

  • ArtWorks @ St. Pauls 60 East Avenue Norwalk, CT, 06851 United States (map)

“Landscapes,” a solo show, will feature the acrylic landscapes by Pam Davis. The opening reception will take place on Sunday, Jan. 8, from 1-3 p.m. The show will continue until Feb. 12. There will also be an artist talk on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 6:30 p.m. where Davis will talk about her background, process and inspiration.

Davis came to painting later in life after a career in finance. She began her studies with Vijay Kumar at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. She now studies with David Dunlop at the Silvermine Arts Center. Her prints and landscapes have received a number of awards from the Rowayton Arts Center.

After a hiatus to be the executive director of the Silvermine Arts Center, Davis returned to painting with a renewed passion and a change of medium from watercolor to acrylics.

Davis’ landscapes embody a dynamic sense of place. The basic elements are classical, yet the result is contemporary. Her work uses a number of tools and techniques to achieve a layering of images that are at once vibrant, yet serene. The human mark is evident throughout her work.
