In 1962 Ugo, Bice, and Maria Letizia DiMare came from Minturno, Italy on the Christopher Columbus. Ugo came to America with his family in search of his American dream of making a better life for his family. Ugo brought not only his family with him but his skills and love of baking. With his love of baking and wanting more for his family he finally was able to open DiMare Pastry Shop in Riverside, CT on May 8, 1976
Ugo began his American baking career at Egidio Pastry Shop on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx soon after arriving to America. Over the next 14 years he not only worked at various pastry shops across the New York area.
Over thirty different cakes will be offered to taste, as well as pastries, and cookies.
